Supporting Carey Donvale students' literacy

The Carey Donvale library has long provided a wonderful collection of books, printed materials and, increasingly, a diverse and popular range of online and interactive resources.

In conjunction with carefully planned learning by our teachers, online resources can provide considerable advantages, including enhancing the ability to differentiate learning to tailor the program to the needs of each individual child.

This year, with the support of Carey Donvale families and the broader school community, we commenced subscription to the online content hub PebbleGo. This provides our students access to a wide range of informational articles, ready-made activities and literacy supports that cater for students of all abilities. PebbleGo is an award-winning system that is enhancing student engagement and independent learning in core subject areas in the Junior School.

PebbleGo supports many areas of our curriculum and has an attractive interface. It is easy for students to use when they are conducting research on science, animals, health and biographies,’ said Siobhan Roulston, Head of Junior School Library (Donvale Campus).

Every gift of any size will help us make this initiative a reality and to enable PebbleGo to be extended and in place for our students next year.

Thank you for your support for our young learners and our wonderful library program at our Donvale campus. For further information, contact Stuart Galbraith, Head of Advancement, on +61 3 9816 1522 or advancement@carey.com.au
